Dear Friends,
Each and every person on Planet Earth is in some way, shape, or form trying to live a life that has certain benefits.  Now, benefits differ with everyone, but most individuals would like the benefits of good health, security, and material possessions which allow life to be comfortable.
But, what is often overlooked in our world today is the benefit of a life lived in faith of a personal relationship with God through His Son, Jesus.  This Jesus said the following words from the Book of John, chapter 10, verse 10: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.  I come that they may have life and have it abundantly." (New Revised Standard Version Bible)
Now, most of us would truly enjoy having an abundance of things which we would enjoy. In the past few years, our society has suffered because the blessings of material abundance have been in short supply.  My question to you is how are we to deal with this shortage?  I would suggest that the answer lies in the relationship of strength and peace offered through Jesus.
Here at First UMC Silsbee, our purpose is to present and offer the love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness of Jesus.  The good news about Jesus is that He is present in all of our situations and through Him we can always have the abundance of His peace and presence.  You are invited to join us as we seek to find the answers to life even in our messy and confused world.
If we can be of help in any way, please let us know.
Because He lives, we live too,

Pastor David
