The Church provides direct support (facilities, funding, and/or promotion) for the following local ministries on a regular basis.  We also contribute to many short term or crisis ministries as the need arises in our community. 
 

Silsbee Christian Care Center

     Location:            415 W. Ave P in Silsbee
     Notes:  The Silsbee Christian Care Center assists residents of Silsbee and Lumberton with food, clothes, utilities, prescriptions, tooth extractions, school supplies, and Christmas presents.  The Church provides financial support and donations of food, clothing, and supplies from periodic collection drives.
 
  
Gulf Coast Health Care

     Hours:                  Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
     Location:             755 North 4thStreet in Silsbee (Northeast corner of the church’s property)
     Notes:  Gulf Coast Health provides federally funded health care, dental care and prescription assistance. They accept all forms of insurance, including Medicare 
and Medicaid as well as offering reduced fee treatment for those uninsured or with inadequate medical insurance.  Proof of employment is required for reduced fee treatment.

WIC (Women and Infants in Crisis)

     Hours:                   Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. 
                                     Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
     Notes:  WIC is a nutrition program that helps families eat well and stay healthy. They provide nutrition education, one-on-
one nutrition counseling, vouchers to purchase healthy foods and support and help for breastfeeding mothers.  WIC is for women who are pregnant, breastfeeding or have recently had a baby.  They also serve families with infants and children from birth to their fifth birthday.
 

Short Term Missions

     Notes:  Usually about twice a year the Church sponsors two-day work missions to assist with disaster recovery efforts for disadvantaged residents of Silsbee and surrounding communities.
 
 
U.M. Army

     Notes:   The Church hosts the U.M. Army youth work camp semi-annually by providing meals and lodging for the youth working on disaster recovery projects in our community.

Girl Scouts

     Notes:   We are part of the San Jacinto Council of Girl Scouts. Troop 4000 is a Brownie troop and our new troop, 4138,  is a Daisy Troop.
 
 
Cub Scouts

     Notes:   Cub Scout Pack 88 is part of the Three Rivers Council of the Boy Scouts of America.  Boys in the first through the fifth grades are welcome to join.  Pack activities include Pinewood Derby, Space Derby, Raingutter Regatta, and occasional camp-outs.  The Pack meets Monday evenings at 6:00 in McDonough Hall.

Unalaska, Alaska
     Notes:  The Church provides annual financial support to a missionary family in Unalaska, Alaska who ministers to those involved in the area's fishing industry.
 
 
 
Global Missions and Ministries
      Notes:   Our Church provides support for many national and international missions and ministries through our financial support of the United Methodist Church.  Each year we contribute more than $40,000 in funds for connectional missions and ministries.
